Molly is a native of Pennsylvania. She was born and raised in Pennsylvania and began her professional career in Philadelphia at the Prince Music Theater at 13 years old. She was in The Snow Queen. After that, she portrayed Little Red Ridinghood in the Arden Theater s production of Into the Woods for which she was nominated for a Barrymore Award. The actress reprised her role as Little Red Ridinghood when she made her Broadway debut at age 15 with Into the Woods on Broadway in 2002 and was nominated for a Drama League Award. Molly was also in the cast of the Broadway revival of Fiddler on the Roof, in the year 2004.
